Welcome All!

I would like to welcome everyone to my blog. I am currently a rising Senior Business Major at The College of New Jersey. Posted above is my favorite quote; I truly believe that the harder one works, the more blessed they appear. Keeping this quote in mind, it is important for my blog readers and subscribers to know where I came from, where I am today, and my aspirations for the future.

Letter of Intent

To Whom It May Concern:

I am currently pursuing an internship in the area of business management. I have purposely developed a background in both business management and communications to make myself as versatile as possible. Throughout the years I have acquired various management experience that many of my contemporaies likely do not have. Some of these experiences include being an Eagle Scout, running several 700+ people events, and interning in the sales department of the New Jersey Nets. I hope to further enhance my skills in the field by contributing my previous experiences and giving my absolute best effort. My attached resume emphasizes some of the aforementioned experiences that can help contribute to your organization.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how I would be a valuable asset to any company looking to hire someone who will not only get a job done, but will get it done to the utmost efficiency. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss further opportunities.

Sincerely,

Jason Cantor

Life Changing Experience

On February 23, 2007, my life changed forever. One of my closest friends, Adonis Smith, tragically passed away during a friendly game of flag football at Drexel University. I believe is important for my blog readers to know this, because I consider this the most upsetting yet defining moment in my life... From that point on, I vowed to never take life for granted again. On February 25, 2007 I founded the Adonis Smith Memorial Scholarship. From friends and family to local companies, I started collecting funds for the scholarship. Before I knew it, we had a scholarship committee. With the help of the committee, we organized various fundraising events including The Adonis Smith Memorial Scholarship Comedy Night. I have brought numerous celebrities to perform for the Comedy Night, including Nickelodeon's Kel Mitchell. We have currently raised over $13,000 for the scholarship and will be donating much of our future proceeds to the American Heart Association. I tell this story not to brag about my achievements, but to show that no matter how negative an event is, positive change can always occur. Adonis may have passed away, but his legacy will live on (hopefully) endlessly. For more information/how to donate...

Sports Management Writing Sample

One of my biggest passions is sports. Here is a paper I wrote for "Economics of Women, Gender, and Work"

This is the presentation that went along with it

Comedy Career!

Upon arriving to The College of New Jersey, my floor-mates convinced me to try stand-up comedy. Since then, I have won numerous competitions, and have performed on the same stage as comedy legends the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Robin Williams. Although it is just a hobby of mine, I believe being a stand-up comedian has helped me hone my people skills, sense of humor, presentation ability, and ability to relate to a large audience.

I have become very interested in booking shows as well as performing. Attached below is a flier I used to promote my last show.

Thank You!

I would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little more. I will be updating my blog as new relevant experiences and employment experiences become available. I hope I have painted a desirable picture for potential employers and viewers that have happened to stumble upon my blog. I hope that I do not need to “toot my own horn” and brag about my character or personality. However, I am optimistic that the experiences highlighted on my blog will do all the talking for me.
